The 33rd Annual Youth of the Year Celebration Brunch, hosted by Edmund Marquez, was a day of inspiration, recognition, and community spirit. The event honored the exceptional 2024 Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson Youths of the Year, celebrating their accomplishments in both academics and service. These young leaders have demonstrated resilience and dedication, embodying the future of leadership in Tucson.
This year’s Youth of the Year honoree, Jaydon Moore, was celebrated for his hard work and commitment. A member for the past nine years, Jaydon reflected on the profound impact the Club has had on his life, stating, “I came to the Boys and Girls Club for the opportunities and the chances I’ve been given.” Achieving Youth of the Year has brought him closer to his goal of attending college, a dream that once seemed out of reach. Moore emphasized the Club’s role in building leadership and essential life skills, encouraging other Tucson youth to experience the benefits of joining.
A heartfelt thank you goes to our host and title sponsor, Todd Bisbocci, owner of locally operated Tacobacci, for his generous and continuous support of the event. We also extend our gratitude to distinguished guests like Senator Sally Ann Gonzales, Senator Priya Sundareshan, and U.S. Representative Juan Ciscomani. Their presence reinforced the importance of investing in Tucson’s youth.
Another highlight was Mya, the 2024 Youth of the Year Second Runner-Up, leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation, showcasing her leadership and grace.
The event not only celebrated the accomplishments of these remarkable youth but also the vital role the Tucson community plays in their future. Donations, including contributions to the BLUE DOOR summer program fund, further demonstrated the community’s commitment to shaping the next generation.
